FAQ

  • Starting therapy can feel like a really big step. We’ll kick it off with a free 15-minute consultation call- no pressure, just conversation to see if we are a good fit. If we’re not, I am happy to point you towards someone who is.

  • That's one of the most common things I hear and honestly, it makes sense. A lot of people have had therapy experiences that felt like venting into a void, or talking in circles without anything actually changing. That can be discouraging.

A few things that tend to make a difference in our work together: I'm not just here to listen - I'm here to help you get unstuck. Sessions are collaborative and focused, and we're always working toward something, not just processing what happened last week. I also can use EMDR which is fundamentally different from traditional talk therapy. It works directly with how your nervous system stores difficult experiences, which means we can often move through things that conversation alone hasn't touched. And practically speaking - telehealth means you're in your own space, which a lot of people find makes it easier to actually go there. If therapy hasn't worked before, that doesn't mean you can't benefit from it. It might just mean you haven't found the right fit or approach yet.

    • EMDR stands for Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing - which sounds a lot more complicated than it actually is.

    • Here's the simple version: your brain has a natural ability to process and file away experiences. But sometimes, especially with painful or overwhelming ones, it gets stuck. That stuck memory keeps showing up as anxiety, self-doubt, overreaction, or that feeling you just can't shake even when nothing is technically wrong.

    • EMDR helps your brain do what it was always trying to do…finish processing it. We do that using bilateral stimulation, which is just a fancy way of saying we engage both sides of your brain at once usually through guided eye movements or tapping. While that's happening, we revisit the stuck memory but in a way that feels much more manageable than just talking about it.

    • Most people are surprised by how different they feel afterward. Not because something was erased, but because it finally got filed away where it belongs in the past, where it can't run your present anymore.

    • You don't have to fully understand it for it to work. Most of my clients didn't either and it changed everything for them.

    • Honestly, for a lot of people it works better. When you're already in a safe, familiar space (your home, your car, wherever you feel most comfortable) it can actually be easier to open up. You're not spending mental energy on the commute, the waiting room, or being seen walking into a therapist's office.

    • Research consistently shows that telehealth therapy produces outcomes equal to in-person for anxiety, depression, and trauma. The work is the same. The connection is real. And for my clients who are already stretched thin juggling work, family, and everything else, removing one more barrier means they actually show up consistently, which is what makes therapy work.

  • I offer both insurance based and private pay options. My private rate is $180. Many of my clients choose private pay for increased flexibility, privacy, and consistency in care. I am happy to answer any questions so you can choose what feels right for you.
